Nobody should be struggling alone as we respond to the Coronavirus pandemic and we all must play our part in fighting this deadly disease. This page aims to signpost people towards the information and support that you may need, whether you are wanting to help or seeking the support that is available from national and local government.

Helping fight Coronavirus

It goes without saying that the most important thing each of us can do is follow the government's guidance on social distancing and regularly washing our hands.

Many of you are already helping, formally and informally, and the outpouring of support is wonderful to see. The NCVO has offered some advice on how you can help and how to stay safe while helping others.

You can volunteer to help the NHS as a Volunteer Responder. There is currently (as of 6.4.20) a pause on signing up due to the overwhelming response to the scheme. Click here to find out more, including how to sign up when the scheme re-opens.

There is also an urgent need for people willing to work in adult social care. Warrington Borough Council are recruiting urgently. Find out more about this vital work here.

Data is already playing a huge role in beating Covid-19. If you want to help the fight by contributing data, you can download the COIVD Symptom Track app. More information is available here.

Financial support for you

Statutory sick pay (SSP) may be available if you are self-isolating. Check your eligibility and apply here.

You can also check your eligibility and find out how to apply for universal credit or employment and support allowance (ESA).

You can find out about the support available to you if you are self-employed here.

Financial support for your business

If you are a business owner, find information about the support available for your company here.

Small businesses may be eligibile for a grant, administrated by Warrington Borough Council. Find out if you are eligible and how to apply here.

Your mental health

Everybody has been affected by the changes to our daily routine, with many of us working from home and having to spend time without face-to-face contact with friends and family. It is important that we do all we can to look after our mental health. The wonderful charity Mind has put together a page of information to support your mental wellbeing.
