Ryan BateI am incredibly proud to be the Liberal Democrat prospective parliamentary candidate for Warrington South. I was born in Warrington and have lived in the town for most of my life. As such I am immensely passionate about my home town; it is a wonderful place, full of great people. I want to be the Member of Parliament for Warrington South so that the town can build on its rich history and have an even greater future.

If you elect me to be your next Member of Parliament, I promise to speak up for the best interests of the town and its people. I have a track record of doing this as a local councillor, where I have challenged the Borough Council's devastating Local Plan proposals and defended our Green Belt from developers like Stobarts and Langtree. Warrington's future cannot be one of mass growth. Our town is unique, with unique constraints around our geography and infrastructure. I believe in sustainable growth, driven by the best interests of the people of Warrington. Yes, we need more homes, but these homes need to be in the right places, with the right jobs and the right infrastructure. I understand this because I've lived in Warrington, I'm from Warrington, I care about Warrington.

As well as speaking for the people of Warrington South, I will also listen to the people of Warrington South. Throughout my time in local politics, I have always listened to residents' concerns and worked with them to demand better, whether it be from Warrington Borough Council, property developers or Peel Holdings. That won't stop if I become your MP. I will still be there, talking to people and listening to people. I believe that is the only way to get things done and if there is one thing I want to do as MP for Warrington South, it is to get things done on behalf of the people I serve.
